Curves that calm. Strength that surprises.
RADius shelves bring a softer edge to custom wall-mounted shelving—literally. Ideal for designers, architects, and builders who obsess over the details, these shelves are crafted from premium hardwoods and anchored with our Aksel HD bracket system. The silhouette may be subtle, but the strength is serious. Each shelf is custom-sized for a precision fit in any space.
For spaces that want a little shape with their shelf
- Kids’ Rooms & Nurseries: Round edges. Softer vibes. RADius shelves bring playful safety and designer charm to the spaces where tiny humans climb, explore, and occasionally throw things. Bonus: they’re strong enough for toy displays and bedtime books, but gentle enough to pass the parenting vibe check.
- Bathrooms & Powder Rooms: When your tile’s curvy and your mirror’s arched, straight lines just won’t cut it. These softly sculpted shelves pair perfectly with warm tones, natural light, and serene bathroom energy. Style with candles, creams, and a sense of calm.Living Rooms & Libraries: This is where you exhale. RADius shelves bring a soft, grounded energy to the spaces where you wind down, recharge, and get back to being you. Their gentle curve adds just enough shape to soothe the space—without saying a word.
- Retail & Hospitality Spaces: The details are doing the talking. In boutiques, showrooms, and luxe lobbies, RADius shelves offer a high-design edge (or lack thereof) that feels intentional, warm, and elevated. Less expected. More memorable.

Curved floating shelf FAQs
RADius shelves are built with our Aksel HD bracket system, delivering the same load capacity as our standard styles—up to 90 lbs per rod when anchored into studs. That means a typical install with two rods can easily support 180 lbs or more. The look may be soft, but the structure is anything but.
Yes. For safe, secure installs, RADius shelves must be anchored into wood studs, solid blocking, or masonry. The floating effect relies on structural support—not just drywall. Always use a stud finder and level to ensure correct placement.
Like all Aksel shelves, RADius comes in premium hardwoods. Choose from white oak, walnut, maple, alder, and more—each in a range of finishes. Lighter tones really show off the curves, but every wood brings out a different mood.
Yes. As long as you anchor into studs or solid backing behind the surface, you can install RADius shelves over finished walls—including plaster, tile, or masonry. Just be sure to use the right drill bit and anchor type for your wall material.
RADius shelves are made to measure and available in depths from 6" to 14".
- 6–8 inches: Great for lightweight decor or small styling
- 9–10 inches: Perfect for books, dishware, or folded towels
- 11–12 inches: Ideal for functional storage or larger display pieces Note: the curved front edge subtly trims the corners, but the central depth and surface area remain fully usable.
Yes. As with all Aksel floating shelves, RADius can be installed cleanly over finished drywall, tile, or plaster—as long as you anchor into studs or structural backing. The shelf sits flush to the wall for a clean, floating look.
